DAMAGED DISPOSITION

SPRING SUMMER 010

Damaged Disposition

Despite the broken tendencies of ones prevailing spirit, we tend to move forth and persevere.Despite one’s tarnished outlook and distressed characteristics, we somehow tend to mend all wounds and continue to further persevere. Despite succumbing to our emotions and being exhausted by our own will to survive, we somehow survive and further more, persevere.

“Damaged Disposition” delves into the emotional behaviour of one’s mind, spirit and body whilst enduring the most extreme and unthinkable pasts. Trimäpee explores the theme of perseverance and determination through the eyes of ones personal journey. From emotional self-conflict, to the pure animalistic will to survive, we applaud the unlikely heroes, ourselves, who continue to preserve through battle and the journey of life.

Trimäpee’s spring / summer 010 “Damaged Disposition” is set in the depths of the desert where we stand alone in the vast land, barren and wide. No signs, no paths to follow. We are all alone in this big universe. Life doesn't necessarily have any meaning other than what one brings to it.

“Damaged Disposition” investigates the complex matter of loneliness, fear and self-discovery. As we each try piece our own puzzled course, we tend to forget that there is no one but ourselves to make sense of it. Despite the disheartened and confronting nature of these themes, the collection poses many questions, which can lead to a self-affirming end. Do we spend too much of our time trying to make sense of the world and the meaning of life rather than living it? Do we hide under our own personal fears, loneliness and past when we are faced with something unexplainable?

“Damaged Disposition” challenges each of our own personal actions and inactions and makes us realize the damming and inevitable truth about our life and journey itself; that despite the path we take and how long we take to get there, and if we get there at all, we must preserve, as it all will come to an end.
